SUMMER DANCING IN THE NORTHWEST
CROSSROADS AND LAWN PARTIES
CROSSROADS AND LAWN PARTIES
Crossroads is an annual summer event held in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, co-hosted by the Seattle and Friday Harbor Scottish dance groups. Held in June of each year, this event is a great gathering of dancing friends from Vancouver Is., Vancouver B.C. area, and from greater Puget Sound coming together to celebrate summer. We enjoy the ferry ride over with dancing on the ferry, march up to the local hall (led by a piper of coarse) where we join others coming, dance to favorite music, share a bite to eat and spend a little time in their unique shops and then end the day with a leisurely trip home with summer sunsets. And, often more dancing on the ferry!
Crossroads 2017
This beautiful sunny, summer day, dancers ferried over to Friday Harbor and were greeted by dancers from their community to join at the Grange Hall for an afternoon of dancers to live music by 'Marcia and the Backup Clan'. A great program was enjoyed by all. Thanks to the Friday Harbor Scottish Dancers for their great hospitality and to those who sent in photos.

DANCING BY THE LAKE
Early August 2008 - 2010 found Scottish Country dancers from all over Puget Sound converging at the Wilson's home just south of Bellingham for their annual "Dancing by the Lake". Folks brought their favorite potluck foods, their ghillies and lawn shoes and enjoyed a social day of dancing outdoors. The weather cooperated and the days were wonderful.
