Wilson's Summer Dancing Party 2009

Once again we enjoyed a wonderful summer's day of "Dancing by the Lake", hosted by the Wilsons.  Folks brought their favorite potluck foods, their ghillies and lawn shoes and came from North and South to celebrate summer in the Northwest.  A great day was had by all.

Robert Burns' Evening - January 23. 2010

What a glorious event this is for RSCDS-Seattle Branch.  This year we held our annual celebration at the Mercer Island Congregational Church of Mercer Island where there is wonderful dancing space, viewing area for new visitors, and  wonderful music to dance to.  Brian Crisafulli and Friends played for our event this year and there were toasts to the haggis, the Ladies and the Men, toasts to the Queen, and to the Baird himself.  Favorite dances, like 'Sugar Candie', 'Merry Lads of Ayr', 'The Lea Rig', and 'Deil Amang The Tailors'  were danced with enthusiasm by all.  Thanks to all who came to celebrate with us.

The pictures following were taken by Robert Gidley, who also helped us make this occasion at  CCMI a special event - thank you, Robert - and Judi McDougall this webmaster.

To all those who helped cook the haggis, neeps, and tatties, organized the event, brought friends to share in our dancing evening - thank you.

Sunshine!!!

Turns are slippery

ghillies or shoes?

Concentrate!

Dancing becomes a challenge when there has been rain and the grass is slippery.  A lot of dancers resort to tennis shoes for safety.  Special thanks to the Wilsons for hosting this event.
