The Seattle Branch Calendar year begins on July 1 for membership.  If you complete your membership form and submit it, you will get the reduced member rate for the summer class.  See Membership page for a form with prices.

        Summer Classes in Greater Seattle 2014

Redmond will have a summer session available this year.  Class will meet on June 29, July 6, 20, 27, Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, and Sept. 7.  This will be a 10 week series led by Lea.  Price per full session: branch members/$70 / non-members $90.  half session:  branch members/$35. / non-members $45.  If you wish to come for individual classes:  branch members/$8 / non-members $10. Wenatchee Scottish Dance Classes will continue on Thursdays at the Irish Dance Studio, 151 Worthen St.,Wenatchee from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.  Lesley Allen is the teacher.  Give Lesley a call if you need more info (509.663.3743)  or to join in their class when if you are over there.


 Dancing in Greater Seattle:  Winter 2013 into Spring 2014

Redmond Class will meet on Sundays, located at the DanceWorks Studio, 16641 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA  classes will be from 6:30 - 8:30 PM, taught by Lea Maiolo.  Classes will be every Sunday unless specified otherwise in the Calendar.  Contact Lea M  if you need further info.  New dancers are most welcome as well as on-going dancers.  Full session: $85 branch member/$100 non-branch member /  Half session: $45 branch member/$55 non-branch member  Per Class: $8 branch member/$10 non-branch member.  

U-District at the University Heights Building will meet on Tuesdays from  April 8 through June 3 2014 (Last winter qtr. class is Mar.11), 8:00 - 9:50 PM.  U-Heights Center is at 5031 University Way NE, Seattle, classroom 108.  Teachers are Rachel Pusey, Ian Sullivan and Guinevere Saenger.   The first half hour or so will emphasize technique fundamentals. Beginners should plan to attend from 8-9 PM initially, but will be welcome to stay later as their knowledge of steps and figures increases. Experienced dancers are encouraged to attend the entire class. (Please note that registration through Experimental College is no longer required.)  Beginners:  $54. / $36. full-time students and under 21. This rate applies if you are in your first or second full qtr. dancing.  New dancers may pay on their second session.  Continuing dancers:  $81. / $63. branch members.  You can pay by check (preferred) payable to 'RSCDS Seattle'.  You can reach Rachel if you need to.

 Lake Forest Park Scottish Dance Classes will resume in January  on Wednesdays  from 7:15 - 9:30 PM  at the Northwest Ballet Studio on the lower level of Lake Forest Park Towne Center, 17171 Bothell Way NE, WA.   This is for all levels of dancers.    Teacher is Elinor Vandegrift.  Rate for classes: members  $7 per session/ non-members $9 paying for 6 or 12 week pkgs,  or if paid weekly as you go, members $8 per session/ non-members $10 per session.

Challenge Class will be at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, on the 2nd Friday of each month, in the Upper Building room 7.  Time is 7:30 - 9:30 PM.   Contact Elinor with questions (425.488.7643).  Challenge class is to challenge personal technique and teamwork of a whole group together.  Dances are not necessarily complicated; emphasis is on moving smoothly between formations with good step transitions, formations and balance bundled with teamwork.  This class assumes you have already had classes in basic footwork and are familiar with general set patterns and protocols.  Dancers from other scd areas are welcome to join us for this class.  $8  for branch members/$12. for non-members.

Monthly Dances & Special Events Fees

Monthly Dances with recorded music fee: members $10.00 / non-members $15.00 (student with Id $5./$10.)

Monthly Dances with live music fee: members  $15.00  / non-members $20.00 (student with Id $10./$15.)

Special Event Dances with live music have unique charges.  Contact the Branch Chairman (See Contacts page) if you will to get further information, or ask the teacher at the class you are at.  Any unique charges are posted with the event in the Dance Calendar.
