Weekend is now accepting applications for their 2015

Weekend West in Victoria BC looks to be an exciting
weekend for 2015. Aimed at those 'under-30' or
with feet that feel that young, there is a Fri.
dance, and 'all ages' ball on Sat., and workshop
classes on Sat. and Sun.

May 16 (Sat.) - Annual AGM meeting at 6:00 PM
followed by a special dance evening at 7:30 with live
music by Calum's Ceilidh Band at the Mercer Island
Congregational Church. There is a slate of officers to be
presented; additionally, any member is eligible to
stand for an office. There must be 25 members
to have a quorum so please come. The

admission is $10 for members/$15 for non-members.
May 22-25 (Fri. - Mon.)
- Memorial Day Weekend Folklife Festival at the
Seattle Center, Seattle. Details of 'who
is dancing where and when' are released the first of
May, so check back that week to find out where our
Scottish music and dancing will be.
May 31 (Sun.) - Nannette's 60th Birthday Ball, St. Joseph
Center - 215 N. 15th St., Mt. Vernon, WA at 1:30PM.
With music by Calum's Ceilidh Band, and with Rachel P.
briefing the dances and walked through, there will be
a lunch followed by dancing for this gift of Nannette Crowell
and Rodney Brandt to all of you.
Dance cues given.
June 13 (Sat.) - Lake Forest Park
Picnic at Logboom Park. The LFP class will
host its third annual 'Picnic in the Park' in
June. Come dance with us on Sat. between 2:00
- 4:30PM at the north end of Lake Washington.
We will dance on the grass or the dock and have a potluck
picnic. Save your ghillies; wear "outdoor
shoes". The program will include some of the
Friday Harbor party dances. Bring chairs,
hats, sunscreen, sunglasses and a pot-luck
picnic food to share. Branch will provide
plates, cups, napkins and cutlery. 17415 - 61st

June 19 - 21 (Fri. - Sun.) -
All's Faire Weekend with our Branch dancing at the
event, led by Lea Maiolo. Redmond class has begun
practicing for this event in Jan. If you wish
to perform with them, contact Lea.
June 27 (Sat.) - Annual 29th Friday
Harbor Dance Event co-hosted by Seattle Branch and
Friday Harbor dancers. We will have our local
Ceilidh Band led by Marcia Thumma playing.
We meet at the Anacortes ferry terminal (you can
help those carrying the sound equipment to carry
onto the ferry) and during the ride to Friday Harbor
there will be dance walk-throughs. A $15.
party fee, U.S. funds, will be collected on the
ferry (cash or check). Your name badge is your
receipt for entry at the dance. If you come
another way, meet us there - at the Grange Hall.
The Whale Museum is a few doors away. A past
SCD member runs the Griffin Bay Bookstore a block
away and has a coffee shop with seats! The F.H.
dancers set up the hall and provide the drinks.
Please bring a finger food for intermission.
Don't forget the ice-cream shops as you go back to
the ferry. Ferry times are found at
It appears that there is a direct ferry at 11:00
from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. But please
check the official schedule again, closer to time.
Allow plenty of time for finding parking at the
terminal areas. The

Jul. 26 - Aug. 2 - TAC Summer
School 2015 will be held at Longwood
University, Farmville, VA, USA. from Sunday July 26
through Sunday August 2. Registration opened in
January of this year.
Aug. 15 (Sat.) - Anne & Peter's Annual Summer
Garden Party is happening again this summer on this
date. Co-sponsored by the Seattle Branch and
the Caledonians this is a favorite for relaxing summer
days. More information on dances and details

RSCDS San Francisco Branch celebrates its 50th
Anniversary at the Asilomar Conference Grounds,
Pacific Grove, CA, USA. Located at
the Monterey Peninsula this is a unique setting for
Scottish dancing. The Workshop and Ball musicians
are Fiddlesticks & Ivory, Judi Nicolson and Andy
Imbrie, with teachers Jimmie Hill, Ruth Jappy,
Elaine Brunken, Jeff Corrigan and Alan Twhigg.
